Liam Gilbert is a 2022 3B/RHP with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Del Norte HS. Small frame with room to fill and time to do so. Ran a 7.41 second 60 yard dash. Primary third baseman, took reps in the infield with short steps to the baseball and some effort to his young actions, works through the baseball some taking his arm back to a compact arm stroke and 3/4 arm slot release, developing arm strength across the diamond. Secondary righthanded pitcher, works exclusively from the stretch on the mound, compact delivery taking his arm back to a long arm action up to an over the top arm slot, worked around the zone and threw plenty of strikes with a slight cutting fastball that topped out at 75 mph and a 12-to-6 curveball that came from a similar tunnel as his fastball. Righthanded hitter, sets up at the plate with an upright stance and a low hand set, utilizes a big leg kick into his swing, young lower half involvement, creates an uphill swing plane with an upper half dominant stroke, showed a feel for the barrel in batting practice working the ball to all parts of the field.
