Tyler Cain is a 2026 1B/RHP with a 6-7 215 lb. frame from Matthews, NC who attends Weddington High School. Extra tall lean athletic build with big physical projection remaining. Right handed hitter, sets up in an open base with a short hand load and simple stride into contact, keeps his swing mechanics simple and short, can get his weight forward to early at times, obvious leverage and projection in his bat speed and projection. 7.34 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, turns well and showed solid fundamental actions, change slots well, showed arm strength from higher slots. Also pitched, works from a well controlled stretch-only delivery, some energy at release and can open up early at times. Fastball was consistently in the low 80's with more velocity there. Showed good feel for spinning the ball and changing shape, slider is the better the two with some sweeping depth. Developing firm change up. May have a higher ceiling on the mound. Good student.
