Luis Lopez is a 2019 C with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Ponce, PR who attends Puerto Rico BB Acad.. Small build, athletic frame with some growing still to do. Ran a 7.48 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, solid receiver but can try to move too quickly at times, playable footwork, could stay lower leading into throw, would like to see more ground gained into throw downs, clean transfer from glove to hand, average arm strength, 2.07 second best pop. Righthanded hitter, wide base with a slightly open stance, hands sit in a relaxed position near back shoulder, rocks to back leg leading to slight weight shift into contact, short hand path to the baseball that stays mostly inside, needs to get stronger for increased bat speed, would like to see more consistent squared up contact for better results. Great student.
