2024 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Samuel Lowe is a 2027 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Douglasville, GA who attends Northgate. Medium, athletic build with well-proportioned strength present and room to add more. Primary shortstop, uses a clean prep step and maintains rhythm with his footwork. Displayed smooth glove actions with developing lateral agility and range in the dirt. Stays behind the backhands and picks the ball cleanly. Has plenty of evident arm speed. Recorded arm strength up to 86 mph on throws across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher, utilizes a full wind-up delivery with a leg lift up to the midsection. Separates the hands at the chest and into a deeper arm path. Creates some twitch while rotating and accelerating into an over-the-top arm angle. Gets directly over his front-side and repeats the operation well. Fastball showed natural arm-side run and sink. It lived at the bottom of the strike zone and ultimately peaked at 83 mph. Mixed in a fading changeup that killed plenty of spin to mistime hitters. Offers intriguing upside from a physicality and velocity standpoint. Right-handed hitter, starts in an even stance with a flat hand set-up and high back elbow. Utilizes a toe-tap trigger for timing before working into a steep bat path and level stroke. Attempts to maintain posture and stay through the middle of the field. Struggles to get off his back-side at times. Impacts the ball well to the middle of the field when timed up. Projects for more power with additional strength and improved lower-half usage. Posted an exit velocity of 84 mph. Ran a 7.19 sixty-yard dash. Excellent student. Named to the 2024 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event Top Prospect List.
