Dylan Jones is a 2022 RHP/OF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Midlothian, VA who attends Manchester. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, young build with room to fill throughout moving forward with added strength. Ran a 7.26 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins with a wider side step moving into delivery with a leg lift up above belt; smooth hand clean arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Lands on line towards the plate with good direction and can continue to incorporate additional lower half moving forward. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, shows subtle running life to arm side and commanded the lower half of the zone well. Flashed a changeup with slight fading life at 73 mph and a curveball with 11-5 shape, shortens arm action at release, up to 73 mph with the pitch. Similar full arm action through the back in the outfield, does a nice job getting on top of the ball and shows quickness to arm, extra step moving into release, shows quickness to footwork. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and weight on backside, shifts some moving into contact. Utilizes a leg lift trigger moving forward, hands work well in swing, shows a full path through the zone with a high back elbow. Employs a middle of the field approach and creates present bat speed, can continue to incorporate additional lower half into shift. Very good student.
