Cane Mehling is a 2025 OF/RHP/MIF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Carolina Beach, NC who attends Eugene Ashley. Medium built, athletic frame present with some budding lean strength starting to translate in game. Ran a 7.28 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, solid arm that projects for more with accurate throws to the bag during the round, clean and compact arm stroke that will work in game, worked through the ball nicely with an overall solid feel for the spot. Secondary right-handed pitcher, full windup from the middle of the rubber, small side step to a belt high leg lift, tight hands at the belt to a medium inline arm path, three-quarters slot, solid mover with overall general athleticism in the delivery and arm stroke, worked around the zone nicely, was up to 82-mph and got some sink to the heater, short tight slider was a solid offering with 2300 RPM as well as vertical curveball with same spin, rounded off mix with change piece to left-handed hitters. Took reps in the infield, long over the top arm action, made the plays, solid fundamental round. Right-handed hitter, even and slightly open, front of the box setup, high hands and high back elbow, short heel lift trigger, short hand drop to slot, some low pull-side liners in the round, got on top of some here but flashed it when level. Multiple hits in game action, accurate barrel and can control it through the zone. Well rounded overall prospect with interesting components at every spot. Outstanding student.
