Tanner Jones is a 2021 RHP/1B, C, 3B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Thorsby, AL who attends Thorsby. Medium frame with an athletic build and strength throughout. Ran a 7.76 second 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher with a simple side step delivery into medium leg lift. Lands in line down the mound with a long stride and drive off the back leg. Long and loose arm action in the back into a more extended three-quarter slot. Creates life on the fastball down in the zone and going right after hitters early in counts with the pitch topping out at 85 miles per hour. Flashed potential in a sharp 11-to-5 breaking ball with some occasional two-plane actions. Also worked out as a secondary first baseman. Funnels out front and into the body. Clean pivots with smooth footwork working around the bag. Has arm strength with carry to the bags topping out at 88 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with a wide base to start and leg lift trigger for timing. Slightly downhill plane creating backspin off the barrel. Utilizes strength well and can torque the hips at times impacting the baseball with some authority. Excellent student as well. Named to the 2019 National Underclass East Showcase Top Prospect List.
