2022 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Malachi Ferrin is a 2024 SS/RHP, C, 2B, 3B, MIF, OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Lawrenceville, GA who attends Archer. Leaner build with athletic traits in the frame. Ran a 7.33 in the sixty yard dash. Has components to work with in the infield and outfield. Stays low to the ground with a bit of zip out of the hand. Solid arm strength from both spots and accurate strikes. Whippier arm works well from different slots. Right-handed pitcher, stretch only delivery into an over-the-top release. Fastball was commanded well and picked spots in the zone. Right-handed hitter, open stance and high hands at start with a bit of wrap to the barrel. Good strength out front with some uphill finish to the path. Solid bat speed and hands stay inside well for solid extension. Swing showed well in game with lots of defensive versatility. Good student.
