Brayden Powers is a 2022 LHP/OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Katy, TX who attends Katy. Square shouldered build with good present strength and room for more. Upper body rotational delivery, lands on line out front, high hands throughout his delivery coming to a high 3/4's arm slot. Steady upper 70's fastball, topped out at 79 mph, has been up to 81 mph at PG tournaments this past summer, short late fastball life. Change up was his best pitch, nice running action and throws it with conviction and for strikes. Hard curveball flashed some lateness. Fills up the zone with all three pitches and was very effective in his outing. Left handed hitter, hits from a very spread stance with limited lower half shift, still hand start, very simple high contact approach he executed well, middle of the field contact. 7.08 runner, worked out in the outfield but has actions better suited to first base on defense. Very good student.
