Brandon Ortiz is a 2020 SS/ with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Warwick, NY who attends Warwick Valley. Medium frame with strength in build throughout. Ran a 7.24 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary shortstop. Gets around the ball and works through towards the bag. Clean exchanges from smooth glove work out front. Overall smooth mechanics from the middle of the field. Accurate carry to the bag topping out at 82 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with a wide stance to start and short leg lift trigger for timing. Long path to the ball through a level swing plane. Rotational shift into contact with some strength when impacting the ball. Good student as well.
