Amanjeet Bassi is a 2020 RHP/1B, 3B, OF, UT with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Reno, NV who attends North Valleys. Medium frame with a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength with continue maturity. Primary right handed pitcher with a smooth paced side step to high leg lift delivery. Created coil over back leg at gather and worked to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Fastball showed naturally cutting action out of hand to glove side in the upper 60's, topped at 69 miles per hour. Slider had 9/4 shape with looser spin and occasional tilt in the lower 60's. Effectively located to the bottom quadrants of the zone inducing weaker contact while on the mound. Also worked out defensively from first base showing clean foot work while moving to and centering the baseball. Funnels from a slightly deeper position and worked through exchange well. Clean pivot while turning the second base and released from a low three-quarters arm slot. Throws produced some on line carry to the bag topping at 70 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions while utilizing an inside hand path. Simple, line drive plane through extension while employing a mid-field approach. Flashed developing feel for the barrel throughout the zone and showed some bat speed when on time. Very good student as well.
