Preston Winget is a 2021 OF/RHP, MIF with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Draper, UT who attends Corner Canyon. Large athletic frame with room to fill out moving forward. Projectable build with broad shoulders. Ran a 6.72 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary outfielder. Deliberate close to the ball coming through and maintaining direction to the bag. Fields out front with a longer transfer in the back. Stays compact with arm stroke creating carry with arm strength at 84 miles per hour. Also worked out from the infield. Fields out front with some stiffness in actions. Works to the bag well with clean backhanded fields. Slightly uphill at release at 78 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with an even stance and high hand set. Utilizes rotational actions into contact with a leg lift trigger for timing. Elevated contact off a smooth, uphill path. Creates jump off the barrel when getting the ball in the air. Consistently found the barrel while swinging with intent. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a side step delivery into a leg lift slightly above the belt. Creates slight coil at the gather. Lands in line to the plate with a shorter stride down the mound. Compact actions in the back into a medium three-quarter arm slot. Fills the zone well with the fastball at 81 miles per hour. Creates occasional run as well. Mixes in a good curveball with an 11-to-5 shape and depth. Will also work in the occasional changeup. Very good student as well. Named to the 2019 Rocky Mountain Showcase Top Prospect List.
