Hunter Havekost is a 2018 OF/C/1B with a 6-1 215 lb. frame from Seville, OH who attends Medina HS. Large frame with broad shoulder and present strength. Ran a 7.50 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth, deliberate footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Generated good momentum through transition with a crow hop gather. Clean glove actions at pick up with an extended transfer. Shorter arm circle at separation and released from a compact three-quarters slot that generated some uphill carry to the bag. Left handed hitter with an very spread, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Simple, compact hand path to contact that created a line drive plane through extension. Created solid extension through the baseball with present bat speed and strength at contact. Flashed the ability to aggressively turn the barrel to baseball and produce loud, hard contact with carry to the pull side gap. Very good student. Named to the 2017 National Underclass East Top Prospect List.
