Erik Hedlund is a 2018 C/RHP, 3B with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from New Paltz, NY who attends Poughkeepsie High School. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and mature build, present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.73 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, balanced set up behind the plate, shows athleticism to footwork and gains ground out of crouch, quick and simple transfer out of glove and into compact three-quarters arm action, gets on top and shows accuracy to the intended base. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance in the box with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Gets closed prior to contact with leg lift trigger, Upper body dominant swing, shows quickness to hands with a short and direct path to the ball. Incorporates physical strength into swing, creates bat speed through the zone and shows lift to plane with ability to drive the ball when squared off barrel.
