Andy Volz is a 2019 RHP/ with a 6-3 155 lb. frame from Greer, SC who attends Riverside. Large and lean frame, highly projectable with room to fill throughout. Only pitched at the event, righthanded pitcher who starts windup with a short side step to a belt high leg lift, compact delivery with low effort, short arm action up to low 3/4 arm slot, wraps arm some through the back, drop and drive actions but tends to drift some during drive limiting his lower half usage, could get more drive off of back leg for added velocity, stays online downhill, some deception to his delivery and he repeats it well. Fastball has armside run to the pitch, topped out at 81 mph on the mound, commanded fastball and slider for strikes, slider is developing spin with some bite but he threw it for strikes. Just needs to continue to get stronger and velocity should come as he continues to fill out, interesting follow. Good student.
