Kason Carter is a 2018 LHP/1B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Lees Summit, MO who attends Lees Summit West HS. Recorded a 7.20 second 60-yard dash. Large frame with long limbs and broad shoulders, projects nicely. Primary lefthanded pitcher with a loose arm action and smooth paced delivery. Big rocker step into a leg lift slightly above the waist. Stays tall on the backside and gathers well over the balance point. Quick and tight arm circle with a higher three-quarter arm slot. Good line and direction toward the plate. Compact and repeatable delivery. Clears lower half well and will get over his front side effectively. Keeps fastball, up to 84 mph, low in the zone with good life. Curveball has 3/8 action with good depth and tight rotation. Mixes pitches well and keeps hitters off balanced. Secondary first baseman with a clean exchange and deliberate actions. Solid arm speed and good accuracy to the bag. Righthanded hitter with an inside path to contact. Slightly open and crouched stance with leverage to the swing path. Glides into contact with carry off the barrel. Has power and can turn over the inside part of the plate. Opens up a bit too early at times and has a pull-oriented approach. Good student.
