Jackson Merrill is a 2021 SS/2B with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Severna Park, MD who attends Severna Park HS. Recorded a 5.28 second 40-yard dash time. Large frame with broad shoulders and excellent physical projection. Primary shortstop who moves well and has soft hands. Low effort actions with very good feel for the position. Arm strength recorded up to 79 mph and it plays up due to quickness of the exchanges and release. Size might eventually push to third base but very good athleticism, fluidity, and glove work. Lefthanded hitter with a small leg lift trigger moving forward, high hand set, and a high back elbow. Gets his hands in a good position at the load with present barrel skills. Can work both gaps with intent and gets his hands extended nicely. Power will improve with additional strength. Good student. Named to the 2019 NE Indoor Top Prospect List.
