Parvinder Ghumman is a 2017 RHP/ with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Poway, CA who attends Cathedral Catholic. Large frame with long limbs and an athletic build. Wiry stength throughout frame with projection for additional size with strenth. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple side step delivery to a medium leg lift. Medium arm circle back at separation and releases from a long, loose high three-quarters slot. Front side will swing open at times while driving to the plate, but consistently stays on line and balanced through extension. Fastball comes out of hand cleanly with solid downhill angle and running action to the plate in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 81 mph. Commanded the zone well with the fastball offering consistently pounding the bottom of the zone at the knees. Curveball has 12/6 shape with some spin and good depth in the low 70's. Flashed a changeup in the upper 60's, very deceptive arm action with solid sinking action down in the zone. Held velocity well throughout each inning of work consistently pounding the strike zone and producing quick, weak contact. Frame and arm action project for additional velocity with continued physical development. Very good student as well.
