Ethan Smith is a 2019 OF with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from McMinnville, TN who attends Warren County High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders, high waist, and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 6.95 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves to the ball well and shows quickness to footwork, uses a big crow hop moving into release, full arm action and shows quickness through the backside, comes through the ball and shows some accuracy to throws, getting on top of throws will help generate additional carry and strength out of the hand. Righthanded hitter, begins with a tall and narrow base with a high hand set in the box. Slightly open stance and gets closed at contact well, upper body dominant swing, stays short and compact with swing path to the ball. Contact approach with a linear swing plane through the zone, shows comfort hitting to pull side, projects with additional physical strength. Excellent student.
