Eli Gardenhire is a 2024 LHP/1B with a 6-3 145 lb. frame from Chattanooga, TN who attends Boyd Buchanan. He ran a 8.08 second sixty. A primary left-handed pitcher with a long lean build. On the mound he worked from the stretch only with a leg lift up to the belt and a longer arm action working up to an over the top arm slot as he was able to keep the fastball down in the zone at 71-74 mph as he lands on line coming down the hill. The fastball generates some swing and miss while the curveball lands in the zone with 1-7 shape allowing him to use it early in counts and create short at bats. At first base he showed the ability to pick the ball as well as receiving the ball out front with firm hands and funneling cleanly to the mid line before making accurate throws to the bases with developing arm strength. Right-handed hitter, starts with an even base and upright stance using a smaller stride to trigger the swing with limited separation. The swing path is rotational at times but stays on a linear path creating a line drive approach with young bat speed. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
