2021 WWBA Workout Showcase (July 14)
Jacob Fernandez is a 2022 SS/MIF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Cumming, GA who attends West Forsyth. Recorded a 7.30 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, durable frame with some present strength and room to add. Primary middle-infielder with quick twitch actions throughout the fielding process, soft hands and excellent lateral range to either side. Displayed ability to work downhill through the baseball, funneling cleanly out in front and has the ability to change arm slots when needed. Recorded online, accurate throws up to 84 mph across the diamond during drills. Left-handed hitter that hits from an exaggerated open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and hover trigger. Incorporates a good weight shift into contact, while creating separation and torque upon landing. Middle-of-the field approach with some present bat speed, feel for the barrel and the ability turn the barrel on the inner-half when needed. Consistent bat-to-ball skills with line drive impact from gap-to-gap. Fundamentally sound prospect with intriguing tools on both sides of the ball. Will continue to improve with additional strength.
