Coleson Abel is a 2021 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Kerrville, TX who attends Tivy HS. Medium frame with a slender athletic build and room to add. Ran a 6.99 second 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher with a quick delivery. Shorter arm circle in the back and releases from a high three-quarters arm slot. Gets some tilt with front side and works downhill. Hides the ball with some deceptiveness in delivery. Gets some drive off the lower half. Fastball is mostly straight but is kept low in the zone and consistently around the plate. Sat in the upper 70's and topped out at 81 miles per hour. Efficient on the mound working quick and keeping hitters off balance. Also worked out defensively from the outfield. Short transfer and transition into throw. Fundamentally sound actions. Developing carry on throws with some accuracy. Topped out at 76 miles per hour. Also worked out at firstbase. Easy effort actions and movements. Glove skills are clean and throws are accurate. Righthanded hitter with a very open stance. Short path to ball with a line drive plane. Repeats mechanics well. Midfield to right center approach. Gets occasional jump off the barrel when squared. Hit tools are there and should play well with development. Very good student as well.
