Chas Sagedahl is a 2017 LHP/1B with a 6-2 176 lb. frame from Prairie Du Chien, WI who attends Prairie Du Chien. Large frame with long limbs and a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.37 sixty yard dash. Primary left handed pitcher with a smooth paced, simple side step to leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side while creating coil over back leg. Utilizes lower half well while driving to the plate with drop and drive actions. Creates a compact arm circle back at separation and releases from a loose three-quarters slot. Fastball has solid downhill plane to the plate with occasional running action, topped at 83 mph. Curveball had 2/8 shape with tight rotation and late, sharp depth. Also showed a changeup with good fading action. Maintained arm speed with changeup offering that proved to be very deceiving to hitters. Consistently changed speeds with good feel for each pitch. Spots up very well on both edges of the plate with all three pitches. Calm, composed presence on the mound with a good knowledge for pitching. Also worked out defensively from first base showing clean glove actions with fundamental work while centering the baseball. Long arm circle back at separation and releases from a three-quarters slot. Topped at 85 mph across the infield generating good carry with accuracy. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance. Lower half has linear actions creating shift into contact. Loose, extended path to contact with a naturally lifted plane through extension. Consistently squared baseball throughout batting practice to the middle of the field showing present bat speed and strength. Good two way prospect that will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Good student as well.
