Zack Donovan is a 2018 OF/RHP, 1B, 3B with a 5-10 200 lb. frame from Petersburg, VA who attends Dinwiddie High School. Medium-large frame with strong, sturdy build throughout body. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.72 seconds. Sets up to hit with high back elbow and high hand set, simplistic and efficient swing mechanics, small leg lift trigger, gets barrel out and can turn on velocity, has strength at contact, can drive the ball on a line, will drive it more with better incorporation of lower half. Worked out in the outfield, fields cleanly out front, shows quality accuracy on throws to the plate, clocked up to 76 MPH. Pitched as well, compact delivery with efficient movements, repeatable and balanced, good tempo, throws from high 3/4 arm slot, heavy fastball down in zone, worked 73-76 MPH on FB. Showed CB with 11/5 shape, good depth and late bite, can miss bats with the pitch. Excellent student.
