Caleb Banta is a 2017 OF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Conyers, GA who attends Walnut Grove HS. Medium frame with athletic, slender present build; good projection remaining on body. Ran extremely well, clocking a 6.70 seconds time in the 60 yard dash. Sets up to hit from wide-based, spread out stance; leg lift timing mechanism with deeper hand load, stride is of good length for swing. Line drive swing plane with good hand quickness, shows good timing ability as well as barrel control to strike the ball squarely out front with consistency, with some plane adjustments he will continue to drive the ball better. Worked out defensively in the outfield, fields out front well with good momentum and balance with quickness to footwork. Compact arm stroke allows for quickened release, gets on top of the ball and shows good accuracy and carry to the bag, arm strength clocked up to 82 MPH. Good student.
