Robert Barrientos is a 2020 C/SS with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Pennsauken, NJ who attends Pennsauken. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to grow. Ran a 7.40 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, athleticism plays and shows flexibility in set up, quick jump into throws and can continue to incorporate additional lower half into release to gain ground, quick transfer and release, repeats well, 1.93 best pop time, arm strength plays in games. Graded best in the infield, shows softness to hands and moves well on feet while working through the backhand, nice carry on throws across the diamond, maintained balance on the charge. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a gliding leg lift trigger for timing. Keeps hands tight and inside the ball with swing path, linear through the zone. Worked to the opposite field, projects with additional extension out front with barrel, shows quickness to hands with strength off of the barrel when squared.
