Carlson Reed is a 2020 RHP/OF with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Marietta HS. Tall and very projectable athletic build. Long and loose arm stroke with plenty of whip in it, creates good leverage to the plate, will occasionally get too open with his front side prior to release. Fastball topped out at 87 mph, around the strike zone with fastball with good running life at times. Slider was a quality second pitch with power and tight spin and some two-plane biting action. Very good bet to keep improving as he physically matures. Left handed hitter, hits from an open balanced stance with a good shift into contact, stays quiet and fluid in his swing mechanics, hits through the ball with good bat speed, gap power and will use the entire field, has hitting tools to develop as a two-way prospect. 7.57 runner, showed very good arm strength in the outfield, works through the ball aggressively. Very good student. Named to the National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect List.
