Spencer Michalek is a 2017 OF/RHP/MIF with a 6-2 160 lb. frame from Shalimar, FL who attends Choctawhatchee HS. Tall and lean build, lots of room to fill out and get stronger. Upper half rotational swing off a deep hand load, wrapped barrel start, long levers and a long swing, swings hard, shows a feel for the barrel, works mostly mid field to opposite field, will benefit from additional strength and shortening up his swing. 7.35 runner, has some raw arm strength that would improve with more momentum through his throws. Showed some potential on the mound, high 3/4's arm slot creates good angle to the plate, lands a bit closed to create more angle, hides the ball well in his delivery. Fastball topped out at 80 mph. Curveball was his best pitch, deep 12/6 downer break with good spin and depth, got swing/misses on his curveball. Short look on the mound but might have better potential at that position.
