2016 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Omar Almodovar is a 2018 C/2B/OF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Miami Beach, FL who attends Immaculata-La Salle HS. Smaller frame with some athleticism presently on the frame. Registered a 7.97 60-yard dash time. Simple approach at the plate with a balanced stance. Extended swing path with solid extension at the point of contact. Lower half has rotation and looks to drive the baseball. Worked out behind the plate and in the outfield but graded out best as a catcher with a 2.25 pop time. Showed a quick transfer and release point with a quick arm behind the plate. He gains ground with his lower half and displayed mechanics that were able to be repeated. Good student.
