2017 PG Fall Top Prospect National Showcase
Bryce Thompson is a 2019 1B/OF, 3B with a 6-0 210 lb. frame from Acworth, GA who attends Allatoona High School. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength throughout frame. Ran a 7.42 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, shows quick actions moving towards the ball, pivots well off the base, extra step moving into release with a full arm action through the back, made a nice diving play in drills off the bag, gets on top of throws across the diamond. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide and slightly open stance with a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box, occasionally gets to front side early but stays short to the ball with swing path and generates extension out front. Loads hands at start of swing, showed comfort working the middle of the field and shows jump off the barrel when squared, can work the gaps too. Very good student.
