Arnaldo Garcia Torres is a 2017 C/1B/RHP with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Klein Collins HS. Medium frame with broad shoulder and a strong present build. Primary catcher, shows a short arm action on accurate throws to second base, stands tall at release, actions will continue to develop with incorporation of lower half. Throws carry across the infield, long arm action, takes short steps to the ball and moves well charging in. Also pitched, throws from a lower three-quarter arm slot with an extended release and worked exclusively out of the stretch. Gets cross body at release but generates run to arm side on fastball that topped at 77 mph and filled up the strike zone with it. Right-handed hitter, starts with a low hand set. Shows a simple, low effort swing with a nice feel for the barrel, line drive swing plane with bat speed and ability to hit to all fields.
