2016 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Zach Nogalski is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Milwaukee, WI who attends Marquette HS. Large, athletic frame with present strength. Projects for additional size with strength. Right handed hitter with a straight, balanced stance. Rotational lower half with good shift to contact. Shows solid fast twitch actions with hands while consistently squaring contact throughout batting practice. Creates good bat speed with a line drive swing plane that has occasional lift. Ball jumps off barrel well with present strength to drive the gaps. Worked out defensively from the outfield showing athletic, loose actions. Creates good momentum through transition and throws downhill from a high three quarters arm slot. Plus arm strength with accuracy to the bag, topped at 88 mph from the outfield. Smooth, athletic actions throughout defensive workout. Also pitched using a simple, balanced delivery. Long arm action on the mound with a high three quarters arm slot. Generates plus arm side run with good sink down in the zone with a fastball that topped at 83 mph. Repeats delivery well while staying balanced throughout with solid command of outer edge. Good feel for straight changeup with deceptive arm speed at 77 mph. Also ran a 6.71 sixty-yard dash. Promising two way prospect. Good student.
