Richard Hernandez is a 2018 3B/RHP, SS, MIF with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Sugar Land, TX who attends Kempner High School. Younger build with a lean, slender frame and room to fill out physically. Posted a 7.51 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary third basemen, showed developing hands and arm strength along with raw footwork with a top velocity across the diamond of 77 mph. Right handed hitter, started with a narrow base, high hand set, high back elbow, and a leg lift timing mechanism. Barrel came through the zone well with a patient approach. Showed a line drive swing path with developing bat speed that will improve with more lower half incorporated in his swing. Also pitched and graded out better on the mound, showed an easy delivery with a long arm action from a high three quarter arm slot. Lands online, showed good extension, worked quickly, and was around the strike zone consistently. Fastball worked 77-80/81 mph with short arm side run. Showed a changeup with downward fade at 71 and also showed a short breaking slider at 73 mph with 10/4 shape.
