2015 National Underclass West Showcase
Max Von Posern is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Solana Beach, CA who attends Torrey Pines HS. Medium-large frame with lean athletic build. Primary outfielder, moves well to the baseball, aggressive and with purpose. Good footwork, comes out of crow hop well and delivered ball accurately to bases in the workout portion of the showcase, clocked as high as 80 mph in drills. Right handed hitter, open stance at setup, gets closed at contact. Tight hands set, works inside the baseball and shows comfort in using the opposite field. Flashes ability to sting line-drives to the middle of the field, showed feel for the barrel. Also pitches, stays balanced in delivery, can spin open at times after landing. Works to a 3/4's arm slot with extended arm-action. Fastball up to 75 mph, shows some life when located down in the strike zone. Also flashed a changeup in the mid-60s with slight fade. Excellent student.
