Calvin Rucker is a 2017 1B with a 6-5 230 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Tampa Catholic HS. Rucker has a large frame with a strong projectable build. He moves well to the baseball defensively and he showed solid footwork around the bag. He has arm strength up to 78 MPH across the diamond and showed the ability to pick the ball in the dirt. At the plate, Rucker starts with an open stance with a high hand set. He has a rotational approach and looks to pull the baseball. Rucker has some bat speed and showed strength in his swing. He showed some pop by hitting a home run in BP and he showed some power potential. Excellent student.
