Jonathan Nieves is a 2017 C/1B with a 5-11 182 lb. frame from Vega Baja, PR who attends International Baseball Academy. Medium athletic build, has some present strength with more to come. Long and loose arm action behind the plate with good arm strength, good footwork throwing and receiving, has quickness and athleticism in his actions. Right handed hitter, big leg lift trigger, doesn't get his weight to his front side fully, has some quickness and looseness in his hands, ball comes off the barrel well with some whip, will need to improve consistency but has the bat speed to hit. Good student.
