Freddy Achecar is a 2016 1B/LHP with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends The Lovett School. Large well proportioned extra strong build. Left handed hitter, open stance, rotational swing with good separation and extension, raises up on his back side to load which occasionally throws off his balance and timing, has some bat speed and strength at contact, works mid-field and the gaps. 7.17 runner, has good athletic actions at first base and shows good arm strength. Also pitched, high 3/4's arm slot from a compact and repeatable delivery, good downhill plane to the plate. Fastball topped out at 81 mph with good arm side running action, threw to both sides of the plate well. Change up is a nice pitch with good fade and sink. Big breaking soft curveball. Threw strikes with all 3 pitches and competed well. Good student.
