Jason Plyn is a 2014 RHP/3B/1B with a 6-4 225 lb. frame from Lake City, FL who attends Columbia HS. Big thick well proportioned build, good strength. Hand drop load with a deep takaway and arm action, high 3/4's arm slot, pulls front side off to allow arm to get through. Mid-80's fastball, topped out at 86 mph, works downhill at times but tends to miss up in zone, has some heaviness and sink when down. Big breaking 11/5 curveball with early break, rare change up. Can simplify delivery and shorten arm for more consistent location and off speed pitches. Right handed hitter, strong swing with gap to gap power and raw bat speed, long at present but has some hitting tools to develop due to strength. Named to the World Showcase Top Prospect Team.
