Jeff Melby is a 2009 MIF with a 5'11'', 175 lb. frame from Bellevue, WA who attends Bellevue. Slender frame, athlete, very sloped shoulder, projectable body. Active defender up the middle, can range to either side, good body control, takes feet to ball well, smooth, has arm strength, throws carry and are on bag. Open stance at plate, competes in box, works count, good recognition, lots of hard opposite field contact, stays balanced, athletic in box, loads hands back, throws barrel. Good student.
