2025 PG Michigan Indoor Showcase
Carson Rice is a 2027 C with a 5-11 193 lb. frame from Taylor, MI who attends Riverview Community. A taller frame and build with some present strength. Room to keep adding to and improving the frame moving forward. Ran a 7.49 60-yard dash. Primary catcher who worked out well behind the dish. He kept throws on lower flight around the bag. He gains ground well out of the crouch with some feel for the footwork to come up and work through release. He had a medium arm action with a solid arm working through it. Threw 73 mph down to second with a 2.04 pop time during his round of throws. Took BP as a right-handed hitter with a spread base, high hands, and the back elbow up. Slightly closed setup. He had a quicker leg lift trigger. He was aggressive through it, with some bat speed and good intent to the swings. He had deeper hands with hard turns through contact, turning the hips well. He had some bat speed and jump off the barrel, working back up the middle. There was some clear physicality and strength. Great student.
