Jose Rivera is a 2027 C with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Barranquitas, PR who attends Escuela Especializada en Baseball. Medium young build with plenty of room to get stronger. 7.60 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up one knee down, moves into his throws well with a clean transfer, will rush at times and lose his timing, some arm strength that should further develop. Left handed hitter, starts from a spread stance with a calm load and trigger, gets too spread at times, has a loose swing with some extension, will drop his back shoulder at times, projectable swing with additional strength and physical maturity. Very good student.
