Gavin Taylor is a 2025 OF/RHP with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Osceola, IN who attends Penn. Compact athletic build with good present strength. 7.37 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, developing footwork into the ball, tends to field the ball to the side, has some raw arm strength to continue to develop. Right handed hitter, hits from an open start with an early shift into contact, will get too far out front at times, line drive swing plane with good separation through contact, has hitters hands and can impact the ball, just needs to get more consistent timing and balance to his overall swing approach. Took a turn on the mound, high leg raise start with drop and drive lower half mechanics down the mound, 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 77 mph and was consistently down in the strike zone. Change up was his best off-speed pitch with some fading action, also threw a short breaking slider. Good student.
