Ian Macvittie is a 2025 C/ with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from East Amherst, NY who attends St. Joseph Collegiate Institute. A lean frame with a compact build, some room to keep filling out moving forward. Higher-set waist. Ran a 7.59 60-yard dash. A primary catcher who had a slight side-saddle to throw. Choppy feet but gained ground moving through the throws. Accurate to the bag. Threw 68 mph with a 2.22 pop time during his reps behind the dish as part of the defensive portion of the workout. Good-IQ behind the dish, with a couple of nice blocks to keep the ball in front of him in-game. A right-handed hitter with a high-hand set and high back elbow. Starts with a wider base and strides forward through contact, getting the hands through the zone with some quickness. He rotated through contact and was able to produce line drives to both sides of the field. Found the barrel and produced some well-struck balls during his round of BP. Produced 73 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Exceptional student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
