Diego Hernandez is a 2028 1B/LHP/OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Land O Lakes, FL who attends Sunlake. Bigger build with some thickness and strength potential. Left handed hitter, sets up in a straight stance with a lift and replace front leg trigger and a high hand load, upper body hands driven swing, can get into his lower half strength more to increase his back side, mid field to opposite field contact. 7.80 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, has step by step actions to the ball, tends to get his glove down late, 3/4's arm slot on his throws. Also worked out in the outfield but is best suited at present for first base. Also took a turn on the mound, works exclusively from the stretch with a multi-part delivery and a long arm action with lots of energy at release, tends to fall off hard to his glove side. Fastball sat in the mid-70's, only threw his curveball during warm ups, threw strikes well with his fastball. Good student.
