2025 PG National Academic Showcase (Tues-Wed)
Koa Franzak is a 2027 OF/LHP/1B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from South Barrington, IL who attends Barrington. Big, strong build, ran a 7.82 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder on defense, long and fluid arm action, charges ball hard and carries momentum through his throws. Gets on top of ball and throws it on a line. Left handed hitter, starts from an upright stance with high hands. Good rhythm in hands and to swing, hits ball out in front with quickness in hands. Also pitched, strong legs, belt high leg lift, 3/4 release with a high front side. Solid delivery with a 3-pitch mix. Throws the fastball (79-82 mph, 1950 spin) with some arm side run. Curveball has big break and depth in the low 70s (2200 spin). Throws a fall off the table change up in the high 60s (1250 spin) to both righties and lefties. Has some projection left on the mound. Good student.
