LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2025 PG High School All State Select Championship (26-27 Grads)
Matthew Rangel is a 2027 C/RHP/OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Lithia, FL who attends Sumner High School. Lean athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. 6.77 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up right knee down, comes out of his crouch with athletic actions, gains ground inline into his throws, makes accurate throws, solid overall mechanics and actions. Undoubtedly athletic enough to play multiple positions. Right handed hitter, sets up in an open stance with a high leg raise trigger, swing was short to the ball with nice extension through contact, got the barrel out front consistently, loose and whippy swing that projects as he continues to get stronger, hit to all fields and created back spin at times. Did not pitch at this event but has been up to 91 mph in short appearances on the mound this summer. Good athlete who will keep getting better as he matures physically. Good student. Named to the 2025 High School All-State Top Prospect list.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
