John McCready is a 2023 RHP/OF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from New Smyrna Beach, FL who attends IMG Academy. Recorded a 7.44 second 60-yard dash time. Medium projectable frame with lots of room to fill out and add strength. Primary right-handed pitcher with a side step into a leg lift at the belt. Compact operation overall and lands slightly open with the front leg. High three-quarters arm slot with a full arm path. Fastball comes out of the hand clean and the fastball was up to 78 mph. Slider showed 10/4 shape with sweeping action. Solid pitch qualities and stuff projects from here on out. Arm strength also plays from secondary position of the outfield. Right-handed hitter with a high hand set, high back elbow, and a wide base. Middle of the field approach with a gap to gap look. Carry off the barrel and the hips work well through contact. Some two-way viability moving forward. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
