Lawson Alwan is a 2025 C/RHP/IF with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Hanna City, IL who attends Peoria Notre Dame. Recorded a 7.43 second sixty yard dash time. Medium frame and athletic build with a good chance to develop additional strength. Primary catcher with a low and square straddle set up, steps far into the batter's box with his footwork, could do a better job of staying in line with his target. Clean and smooth transfers with a compact arm circle, the arm slot will vary at times. Has the pieces, will really see improvement as he stays directional with his footwork. Left-handed hitter with an even base and a semi-crouch stance, utilizes a big leg lift trigger and a slight hand hitch upon load. Very busy barrel load, has lots of big movements pre-pitch and tends to be inconsistent with his timing. Showed present bat speed and an all-fields approach. Compact swing on a flat plane, impacts it well when on time and has things to like once he launches. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
