AJ Cruz is a 2026 SS/OF with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends ESB Academy. Very athletic build with present strength and plenty of physical projectability remaining. Right handed hitter, sets up in a comfortable straight stance with a high hand load and simple stride into contact, well timed swing, has present bat speed, very loose and extended out front, big power that showed up in the games, high level hitting tools. 6.92 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, has easy athletic actions to the ball, hands are clean and quick, big arm strength across, smooth charging the ball. Also worked out in the outfield with similar tools and athleticism, arm played very well on the grass, could stand out defensively all over the field. Excellent student with a commitment to Samford. Named to the PG Miami Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
