2023 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Liam Parsons is a 2026 C/OF with a 6-1 156 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends East Mecklenburg. A taller frame and thinner build. Lean and slender with room to keep filling out moving forward. Ran a 6.75 60-yard dash. Primary catcher who started with a higher setup in the crouch. He had a quicker release from the ear, with good arm strength. He replaces the feet well, working through it and showing quickness in his actions. Uphill release with some arm strength working through his round. He threw 78 mph down to second with a 2.18 pop time during his reps working out of the crouch. He's a right-handed hitter with a wider base and tight hands. He uses a heel raise trigger to get on time and works directly to the ball with his hands. He has some hand speed and is able to show off a loose stroke overall with some bat speed. He was able to work on the barrel during the round with some aggressive swings during the round of BP swings. Projectable traits in the batters' box. Produced an 80 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Added 2 hits in-game. Also got up on the mound to work from the right side. He had a hip-high leg lift with on-line movements. He worked up to 84 mph on the fastball and was a pretty easy mover working downhill. He had a full arm action with some looseness to it, and a higher three-quarters release working through it. Also had a curveball in the mix and a changeup to round out the three-pitch mix. Punched out 3 hitters during his 2 and 2/3 innings of work. Excellent student. Named to 2023 PG Main Event TP List.
